G.H Bass & Co is the biggest name in heritage footwear of the slip on variety. The brand's famous Weejun loafer was originally inspired by Norwegian fishermen shoes and is still bench made by hand. Seasonal collections include a full colourway of the brand's loafer styles and the occasional deck shoe. The style quickly went on to become a staple on college campuses throughout the US, cementing the shoe in Ivy League history.
The Weejun was made from supple polished leather in a traditional moccasin construction with two large pieces of shaped leather to form the upper and a strip across the ankle that featured a unique half-moon cutout. Today little has changed in the construction and the weejun is still hand sewn and bench made to the same standard as it was last century.
